This lesson is designed to make up for some of
the time we missed due to our later starter in this school year.
Please take this lesson as seriously as you would a normal class.
As you complete this lesson, you will be directed at certain
points to stop and watch a film clip, to read a document, and to
complete a chart. Follow
the steps carefully!
1. Take
notes on the French and
Indian War PowerPoint lecture. This is a recorded lecture
that I have uploaded for your viewing; its 23 minutes in length.
The password is Stedman. Please
note: I will check your notes for their completion.
2. When
you are directed to do so, watch the
short film on the French and Indian War; it is 15 minutes in
length.
Film questions: What was the
name of each war? When did each war occur? What was the result of
each war? What impact, if any, did it have on the British American
colonists?
3. When
you are directed, read “The
Paxton Boys Remembered” and answer the following questions:
·
Prior to the arrival of the
Paxton Boys, what was the relationship like between the Conestoga
native and the American settlers?
·
What did the Paxton Boys do
to the natives?
·
What was the Paxton Boys
further threat?
4. Finally,
complete The
Acts worksheet from the Sugar Act to the Townshend Acts. We
will complete the rest of the chart in class after we have had a
chance to discuss the significance of this first series of acts.
This lesson is due on Wednesday, Sept. 18th.
