Term Identification:
On a 3x5 index card (or using Quizlet,
an online flashcard program), include the following for each term
(If you use Quizlet, follow
these directions!)
- On the front side of the card: the term, person, or event
to be defined

On the back of the term, include each of the following:

Who / what: include all
characteristics

When: date(s) event
occurred, document
was issued, President was in office, etc.

Why is he / she / it significant

Note: to fully acquire all of this
information,
some research beyond the information provided by the textbook may be
necessary; vocabulary is clearly defined by the textbook; Quizlet's
auto define should NEVER be used.
Example term: Thomas Paine
Example definition:

Enlightenment / political thinker who successfully
encouraged Americans to seek their independence from Great Britain

Most famous work: Common Sense (1776), pamphlet
written and widely distributed throughout the colonies

famous and significant line: "...there

Each unit's terms are to be bound together by
way of a binder ring. It may be useful, but it is not required,
to
separate the terms for each chapter in a unit by color of index card.
